Kickin' It

Jackson started Soccer yesterday!! We met the coach and got his shirt 2 1/2 hours before their first game!! He was so excited to tell his daddy that now we got to watch HIM play. We got to the field and after a brief explanation of why he was purple and not orange we met his team and his coach. The red team that we played had obviously practiced and had a very good player on their team...we watched the pre-game practice with our friends the Childs and grew more nervous! The team voted on what team name they wanted and someone suggested the bears or the zebra's and Jackson voted for the Zebra, but was out voted to be the Bears. That was fun to explain too! They started the game and Jackson got the ball and kicked all the way to the goal and made their teams first and only goal! We were so excited and I was cheering and yelling and beaming from ear to ear...then I sat down and realized that I was turning into "that" mom and was surprised how into the game I was getting! I need to work on this so by HS I will hopefully have it in check! The team lost, ut it was so fun to watch what Cordell calls bumblebee soccer! They all swarm around the ball and it is so fun to watch! Jackson even tried so hard to get the ball back once that he fell on his face right on top of the ball!! Way to sacrifice baby! We did get one more goal, but it was in the other teams net lol!! Jeston did a great job and why kick it all the way down the field when there is a perfectly good goal right next to you! So cute! It was so fun and we are thrilled that he is on a team with 4 of his friends from church! It was a fun social 1/2 hour...yeah I thought it would be longer! It was great and is already teaching Jackson so much...bring on the next game!! We'll "bee" ready!!

Thanksgiving Point's $2 Tuesdays

OK...I have never been to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. I had NO idea what a great deal their 2 dollar Tuesday's was!! We decided to go with our playgroup and as soon as we got off the freeway we were in line all the way back by the exit!! We found a place to park, (in the gravel) and hiked up to the line that wrapped all the way past the end of the museum itself! We were in line for over an hour! have you ever had to cope with two young and wild , excited boys with no food or drink in 90 degree heat? I did my best and luckily had friends to help me!! We got in and it was super crowded, but Jackson and Cameron had a GREAT time!! We are so glad we went, but I may pay the full price next time and take my time!! We felt a little rushed and I wanted to moo on occasion on the fact that I felt like cattle being herded through! The erosion table was packed and all the Dinos had pretty much been found and so Jax was sad he didn't find any!! But he loved the digging room!!! Cam wasn't too sure and hated the feel of the sand on his bare feet but once I got in with him he loved it!! A little boy even saw that he was struggling and gave him his brush!! so sweet!!! He got the hang of it and loved playing along side his big brother!!! The boys want to go back and I think Cordell would love coming with us this time!! I would also love to get Cordell's dad in with us too!! He is a Geologist and it would be so fun to have him with us!! We hiked all the way back down to the car afterwards to get our picnic lunch that we were all going to have together and by the time we got back up to the table Cameron had had it and I couldn't figure out what he wanted!! So we left in a hurry and Mommy wasn't so happy!! I finally figured out that all he had wanted was a drink from Jackson's cup!! Oh my word!!! Well I got my exercise anyway right?!! It was great and Jackson is so happy he finally got to go in the T-Rex building!! What a day!!

Here it comes ready or not!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, my baby boy is starting school!!!! We are going to have such an exciting fall!! School and Soccer!! We are thrilled!! Although, I think I will need medication to see him get on the bus for the first time!!! He is so excited and he loved our little outing with Grammy and Jonathan!!

Jackson found "HIS, perfect packback" Grammy found the only transformer backpack left! It was hiding from us!! So I made him put it up again so I could get a picture!! We actually didn't find it with the rest of the backpacks!

He got to pick two folders and went straight to Bugs!! Only because they had no transformers lol! You may also notice that he is wearing his soon to be school clothes!! Thnks Grammy!!

Adding all the goods into the cart!! Notice his clear pencil holder....we tried and tried to talk him into a cool color. Grammy even got up on the shelf and knocked some down so he could see them up close...He wanted the clear one and I had told myself that HE was getting to pick...so whatever! We had a great time with JOnathan and Grammy and I still can't believe School is almost here!!! AHHHHHH! I am so excited but a little sad too!! He looks so grown up in these pics too!! Where does the time go?!! School and Fall...here it comes ready or not!!

Pioneer Day

What a Wonderful day!! Jackson made it even more memorable by getting his first Bee Sting!! He came in the house just sobbing and I asked him what was wrong and all I got was... "Why he do that?" I said.."who?" And then finally learned that the bee had stung him and was then told to please go kill it! It was so sad!! He finally settled down and we got the raid and went on a bee hunt! Ahhh Justice lol!! After we sought and won our revenge, Jackson fell fast asleep and every now and then you would hear a little sniffle! Live and learn right?! We spent pioneer day with my family. I was sad because Cordell had to work the next day at 5 so he stayed home and went to bed!! But before we left him we did have a great bbq complete with potato salad and homemade rolls!! Later, Jackson was quite the little boss...surprise, surprise!! We had a great time watching all the fireworks and I loved the snuggle time with my extremely tired Cameron!! The next morning we woke up to Jacksons eye being swollen almost completely shut! We tried Benedryl and Ice, but it was just going to take some time! I was hoping to have it down by the Primary activity that night, but even another nap didn't help! Jackson woke up grumpy and not happy that we were going to be around people and hid his face for the first 10 minutes of the activity! He felt bad every time someone would ask him what happened, but eventually he forgot all about it! We had lots of fun doing 3 legged raced and sack races and He was thrilled that he was one of the only kids to get the hoop to roll down the street like his daddy!! He loved the horseshoes and the seed spitting!! We ate dinner and got our family pictures done...I look so lovely!! Then same some songs! Jacksons favorite was "this is the place" because all the boys got to yell that out at the end of the song! .... So Cute!! All in all a great weekend and I loved the activity, because it helped in explaining the holiday to Jackson and just how much we have to be grateful for!! Hope you had a great one too!!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

What a WONDERFUL day!!! Jackson has been wanting to go INSIDE a temple for months now!! We finally went to an open house and it happened to be right next to Cordell's parents house, so we snuck in a visit too!! We took our friends along and Jackson was so happy!! It was so hot outside, so the water and the cool tent we watched the introduction movie in was a welcomed sight!! they showed pics of temples all around the world and when Jackson saw the SLC temple he said (in a not so quiet voice) "mommy that is where you got married..right?" So cute!! And it proves that he does listen!! When we walked in it was amazing!! Jackson was just ohhing and ahhing all over the place and was so cute and reverent!! He wanted to hold my hand, but then saw others folding their arms to he followed suit for awhile, then back to the hand holding (which I of course just hated)! His favorite rooms were the baptismal room and the sealing room..He also liked the "snowflake and star light" in the Celestial room! I cried, of course, I was so proud to see my baby so in love with the Temple!! It certainly puts everything back in order and sets your priorities back to where they should be! It was amazing how beautiful it was, but how it is just a building now and you can feel that it is not dedicated yet! Interesting! My heart was just bursting with what Jackson has been learning and how excited he is to go in the temple "for real"! We left and ate WONDERFUL cookies and Jackson saw a Piano that was playing all by itself and was so intrigued!! He kept asking how does it do that? And then asked me to take a picture of it! so cute!! We ate at Carls Jr and then said goodbye to our friends and visited Cordells parents! It was a great experience and I felt the spirit speaking to my heart! Jackson felt it too and couldn't really describe how he was feeling he just kept saying his heart was "so fast"... We sat in the sealing room and listened to a really cute couple talk and I showed Jackson the mirrors. I remember my mom doing this with me when we walked through the Timpanogos Temple! It was so special and now I have done it with my little boy too! This Gospel is sooo incredible and I want these same feelings of being in the Celestial room with my little family when I am waiting for my them on the other side!! It just wouldn't be Heaven without them!!! If you haven't had the chance to go yet..then go!! Don't make excuses about taking your kids either...they need this and you need to share this with them!! No other experience has come close!! It was AWESOME!!
